The RVB exhibition travels

Presented at the musée de l’Imprimerie et de la Communication graphique (Lyon 2e) in 2023, the RVB – Rouge Stephen King Vert Véronèse Bleu Maggie Nelson exhibition is unfolding and traveling to the libraries of Lyon. A selection of works, stories and images will be presented at the Jean Macé library (Lyon 7th) from November 7, 2024 to February 1, 2025, to delight adults and children alike!

How does the eye perceive color? Additive, subtractive colors, frames, paint, pigments: alongside a look back at the formation of these colors, RVB proposes to explore the worlds of three artists to give an aesthetic and emotional insight to the whole: Stephen King, Veronese and Maggie Nelson.
Le Rouge allows us to expose Stephen King's different passions for writing, detective and fantasy literature, as well as the films adapted from his works. From Shining to Dead Zone, his cult books, very autobiographical, give pride of place to his childhood fears and joys, much more than we imagine.
Veronese Green is the name given to a specific shade of color, which leads to a link with the use of green in the paintings of the 16th century Italian master. The exhibition then places side by side subjects crossing all the complexity of perceptions of green, such as the video game Zelda.
Finally, the author and poet Maggie Nelson composed the work Bleuets (2009) based on the different forms of the obsession she contracted for the color blue following a romantic breakup. Its text will be compared, cut into fragments, with a selection of “blue” images from the museum’s collections, art history and pop culture, to pay homage to this book, a true ode to melancholy and resilience.
